VAPOR SITES UNDER INVESTIGATION - STAR TRIBUNE

According to the graphic in the link above, the aquifer with provides Minnetrista’s ground water, sits under three sites which have been identified as:

“those sites, shown here, soil vapor hazards have been confirmed and are being cleaned up. The contaminants include volatile organic compounds such as benzene and toluene that are potential carcinogens. But the contaminants vary from site to site, and public information on some of the sites is extremely limited.”

Does it escape the realm of possibility these pollutants are also finding their way into the groundwater?

How about the old Mound Dump:

You can tell us that today these may not be real issues inside our aquifer, but you can't promise us that that these won't be issues tomorrow. Everyone deserves the cleanest water possible. Period.
